Attorney Gene Ludwig
Gene Ludwig graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, AR. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the prestigious University of Michigan. In 1985 he left a prestigious defense firm (2nd largest in the State of Arkansas) and opened Ludwig Law Firm to represent people on the other side of the courtroom fence. As of the summer of 2009, Gene has been a trial lawyer for 27 years.
Gene has an outstanding record of achievements, either by trial or settlement. Through jury verdict or settlement, Gene has been able to recover $1 million or more for at least 16 clients. In 2002, Gene and his co-counsel tried a railroad case where the jury awarded over $30 million to his clients. This is the largest known punitive damage award ever upheld by the Arkansas Supreme Court and actually collected. In 2005, Gene and co-counsel obtained an $18.9 million settlement for his clients in a nursing home class action.
Gene continues to successfully represent clients in complex cases involving personal injury, trucking and automobile crashes, nursing homes, cryogenics, fire, land pollution, toxic torts, railroad grade crossings, go carts, product liability, hospital contracts, and class actions.
Gene has lectured at legal education seminars and has served as special judge in Little Rock District Court.
Gene has twice been nominated National Trial Lawyer of the Year (2003 and 2006) and was also been nominated Arkansas Trial Lawyer of the Year (2006).
He is an avid jet pilot who is a member of Angel Flight.
