Details of the Crash Involving Mackenzie Arthur

According to preliminary reports from the Arkansas State Police, Mackenzie Arthur, 20, was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Friday, May 30, 2025. The collision occurred at approximately 11:17 p.m. on State Highway 109 across the Morrison Bluff Bridge in Logan County.

Arthur was driving a 2010 Toyota southbound across the bridge when her vehicle was struck from behind by a southbound 2011 Chevy. The impact forced Arthur’s car across the center line, where it collided head-on with a northbound 2006 Peterbilt truck.

The force of the impact tragically claimed Mackenzie Arthur’s life at the scene. A minor passenger in her vehicle also died in the crash, as reported by the Arkansas State Police. Their bodies were taken to Roller Funeral Home in Paris, Arkansas. No other injuries were reported in the official accident summary. The Arkansas State Police investigation is ongoing, led by Trooper Zachary Roy (#355).

According to Makenzie's Obituary, there will be a memorial service for Makenzie on Wednesday, May 4th. Our hearts go out to her family, the town of Scranton, and to the Arkansas Tech community.

What Families Should Know After a Fatal Rear-End Collision

Fatal rear-end crashes are uniquely devastating. In this case, the actions of a driver following too closely—or failing to stop in time—may have contributed directly to the loss of life. Under Arkansas law, families of those killed in preventable accidents have the right to file a wrongful death claim against the responsible party.

What a Wrongful Death Claim Can Accomplish

Surviving relatives may be able to:

  • Seek financial compensation for funeral expenses

  • Pursue accountability for negligent driving

  • Secure justice and recognition for the person they lost

More than compensation, wrongful death lawsuits are about truth, accountability, and providing families with closure.

Don't Wait to Take Action

Important evidence can be lost with time—including crash data, witness statements, and vehicle damage. While the official investigation may take weeks, families can begin working with an experienced attorney immediately to seek justice and better understand their rights.
