POINSETT COUNTY, Ark. — A fatal pedestrian collision occurred late on the night of July 13, 2025, on Interstate 555 near the 16-mile marker in Marked Tree. The crash, reported at approximately 11:10 p.m., claimed the life of 34-year-old Meagan Webb of Brookland.

According to the Arkansas State Police, a 2018 Jeep Renegade had stopped on the southbound shoulder of I-555. Webb, a pedestrian associated with that vehicle, was in the southbound traffic lane when a 2018 Ford Escape struck her. No other injuries were reported.

The weather was clear and the road conditions were dry at the time of the incident. The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Joshua Landreth with the Arkansas State Police. Webb's body was held at Delancey Funeral Home in Poinsett County.

Helping Families Move Forward

At Ludwig Law Firm, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Meagan Webb. Fatal pedestrian crashes on Arkansas highways are emotionally devastating and legally complex. When a person is killed while outside a vehicle, families are often left with more questions than answers—especially regarding fault, visibility, and driver responsibilities.

Under Arkansas law, family members may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim if a driver’s negligence contributed to a pedestrian fatality. In this case, the circumstances surrounding why Webb was in the roadway and how the impact occurred will likely be central to any legal inquiry. Even if a pedestrian was outside a vehicle, motorists still have a legal duty to exercise caution—particularly at night.

Our firm supports grieving families by investigating what happened and ensuring the responsible party is held accountable. We’re here to guide you through every step with clarity, compassion, and legal experience.
