What Families Should Know After a Fatal Crossover Collision

Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous types of crashes and often result in catastrophic injuries or fatalities. In Arkansas, when a driver crosses the center line and causes a fatal crash, it may constitute negligence under state law.

Under Arkansas Code § 16-62-102, families of individuals killed in such collisions may pursue a wrongful death claim to seek accountability and recover costs related to funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and future earnings. When crashes occur in poor visibility conditions like fog, investigators will typically assess speed, driver attentiveness, and whether headlight or safety protocols were followed.

These claims can be complex, especially when serious injuries or fatalities are involved. Consulting an attorney can help families preserve critical evidence, handle insurance matters, and begin probate procedures.
