Arkansas wrongful death law: What families need to know
Arkansasâs wrongful death statute, Ark. Code Ann. § 16-62-102, gives surviving family members or a personal representative the right to pursue damages for funeral costs, lost income, and loss of companionship. Families usually have three years from the date of death to file. Additionally, a survival action under Ark. Code Ann. § 16-62-101 can provide compensation for medical expenses or conscious pain the victim experienced before death.
Tractor-trailer crashes: Why evidence matters
Fatal tractor-trailer accidents often require an in-depth review of dash camera video, driver logs, inspection records, and crash reconstruction reports. Evidence can determine whether excessive speed, driver fatigue, or improper maintenance contributed. Preserving this evidence early helps families seek accountability.
