GARLAND COUNTY, Ark. — A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred on the afternoon of June 17, 2025, on State Highway 5 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The crash, reported at approximately 2:20 p.m., resulted in the death of 78-year-old Sharron C. Wright of Malvern.

According to the Arkansas State Police, the incident occurred during rainy weather and on wet road conditions. A 2011 Dodge driven by 67-year-old Vernon Bifford Baldridge of Greenwood was traveling south on Highway 5 when it crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2015 GMC driven by Wright. Wright was killed in the crash.

Baldridge was injured and transported to CHI St. Vincent. The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Hunter J. Grubbs with the Arkansas State Police. The body of the deceased was held at the Garland County Coroner’s Office.

We Help Families Move Forwards After The Accident

At Ludwig Law Firm, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Sharron C. Wright. In Arkansas, surviving family members may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim when a loved one is killed due to another driver’s negligence—even in difficult weather conditions.

While rain can contribute to dangerous driving, each driver is legally responsible for maintaining safe control of their vehicle. In this case, the report indicates that Vehicle 1 crossed the center line, which can be a sign of negligence, even in wet conditions. If fault is confirmed, Wright’s family may be entitled to compensation for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and other damages.

Our firm helps families navigate these difficult moments with compassion and clarity.
